“Dealing with my own limiting beliefs has been something that I deal with all the time. I am always listening to books or some form of personal development.” – Lynare Antoinette

Lynare Antoinette is a talented and dynamic lifestyle/weight management coach, speaker and personal trainer.

Unlike many other other professionals, Lynare does not only take her learning from higher education but she uses her real life experience of having a chronic neurological illness that was diagnosed in 2001.

Shortly after her diagnosis that a few years later managed to place her in a wheel chair, Lynare made the choice not to accept the doctor’s grim outlook for her disabled life.

She started to study nutrition and macrobiotic eating, everyday fighting to think positively and settings goals. She refused to believe this that this was the end. Starting with light stretching to strengthen her weakened limbs, she was eventually able to “walk-out” of the wheel chair that she had been sentenced to by medical professionals.

Lynare is now training at top notch gyms and providing life coaching to successful entrepreneurs. Lynare is still determined to use over 5 years of experience and numerous certifications in personal training, coaching, nutrition and wellness to help motivate others to go beyond what they think is possible in their own life she helps inspire and empower clients to take charge of their own lives and begin making dreams a reality

For as long as I can remember my father was an entrepreneur. My earliest memories with my family are working with our family business. My mother also tried her hand a two businesses. My siblings and my children all have that entrepreneur spirit!

Why did you start your business(es)?

I started my latest business due to a chronic illness that had left me partly disabled. My hobby of nutrition was what helped me save my life. I wanted to help other people and slowly this has moved into a business.

What entrepreneur has most inspired you?

I was lucky to be around entrepreneurs my entire life. The one that inspired me most had to be my father. Having a parent who has this as the main drive of his life really leaves a lasting impression. I wasn’t as afraid to try because I had seen my family both fail and succeed. When I was younger I really thought it was a part of life, and that everyone did this! Although, I knew going into this how hard it was going to be. So maybe there had to be a little bit of “crazy” in me too!

What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome thus far in business?

The biggest obstacle I have had to overcome has been myself. Dealing with my own limiting beliefs has been something that I deal with all the time. I am always listening to books or some form of personal development. I find that putting positive things in my mind quiets the negatives.

What have you learned from failure?

I believe that failure is the greatest teacher. I have to just take what I need from each one and go on.  I’m always talking about people who have failed or have had major setbacks. I love pointing out how then they never gave up and went on to do great things.

How does your leadership style foster your company’s culture?

My leadership style is about seeing value in everyone. I try to motivate and inspire each person to excel.  I feel this has created a culture where we each help one another with continual improvement. We are not completely without rules. Projects that have a deadline must be done by that time. There is room for failure and we welcome it! This is usually a great learning tool. I feel I must add that my employee base is small enough that each person who I bring in is beyond vital.

What are your top 3 responsibilities as a leader?

As a leader I set the tone. I feel my first responsibility to give positive energy. If we have the wrong energy, it can sabotage our company. I also feel I need to lead by example. The people who follow you need to trust and respect you. If you don’t demand excellence from yourself, you can’t demand it from anyone else. Finally, I think you need to be humble. It’s about thinking about those around you. I need a team with more amazing dynamic skills than I have. They need to be strong especially where I am weak

What internal process do you use to guide your decision-making?

When I need to make a decision I go through the typical due diligence. I have trusted circle of advisors who are there for me whenever I need to bounce ideas off someone. In the end it usually is a feeling in my gut. When I really trust myself, I find that I’m right!

How do you define success?

This has really changed for me over the years. I now define success by how I positively affect the people I am around, as well as my clients. It’s about that feeling of contentment, at the end of the day; the day that you lived to the best of your ability with positivity and no regrets.

Which book has inspired you?

I read, well I listen on Audible, to something every day! I set aside time for this. I think my new favorite book is “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson. By the way you can listen to a version of it on YouTube.

What do you think is the coolest technology out there, and why?

The coolest technology out there would have to be some of the newest virtual reality being developed. This has been a long awaited technology that has released some pretty poor products over the years! Yet as we get ever more sophisticated so does this. Since 2013 there have been some amazing jumps forward. Right now the HTC Vive headset, that basically needs a super gaming computer to get the right effect, can deliver a complete virtual experience. Making viewers even “feel” as if they are in an elevator, for example, with only the use of a headsets. Already VR is being explored for other applications outside the gaming community. There is an anatomy virtual text and 3D drawing and painting. American football players are using it to practice plays without ever going into the field. I have heard there are even surgical applications in the works for VR Technology.
